Abused People Need Your Help – Part 2
As stated in Part 1 of this article, satanically abused persons are extremely vulnerable to further abuse in ways that most people would not notice. There is a great need for people who were not abused to begin to help those who were. One place they need help is in their church because evil people most likely attend it and have ways of hurting the vulnerable in their midst.
Most Christian people have no idea of the extent of evil there is in the world today. If they did, they would be more careful about who comes into their church. When the church meets in a building with a sign out front that says, “Everyone Welcome” or something of that nature, Satanists can walk into their church and do a lot of damage without anyone noticing. They are often skilled at sending curses and releasing demons to prey upon the lukewarm Christians. Even more mature Christians can be deceived by them. The lukewarm are more likely to succumb to the lies that are designed to cause discord and division in the church.
Satanically abused people are able to quickly identify the imposters because the nature of their abuse has made them more sensitive than others to the spirit realm. Therefore they sense other people’s demons and they are often attacked spiritually by those demons.
Here is where the big problem arises for satanically abused people. They know what is going on and see the danger, but virtually no one in the church will believe them. The ones I’ve ministered to did not spread gossip about it in the church but went to the pastor to warn him/her. So far I don’t know anyone who was believed by their leaders. Therefore, because the abused persons receive even more abuse from these imposters in the church, they have to leave in order to protect themselves. This just adds more pain to their already difficult lives. They want to worship and participate in Bible studies and other church activities and have Christian fellowship, but they are denied that dimension of the faith because it has become dangerous for them. And the worst part about this is no one believes them.
Most Christians believe they would recognize a Satanist if one walked into their church. However, since entering pastoral ministry in 1970 my husband and I have learned the hard way that there is no way to identify them in the natural. They can only be discerned by the Holy Spirit revealing it to your spirit. They look like ordinary people. They may know the Bible well and even be good at preaching or teaching.
The early church had a distinctive difference from the church of today in that they made it hard to get into the church and easy to get out. Today we make it easy to get in and difficult to get out. This is because today we want the numbers and the money. Prior to joining the early church, the prospective member had to demonstrate a change of belief, a change of behavior and a change of belonging (who your friends are). In this way they kept the church holy and set apart from the rest of the world. The church today is just like the world because we have done nothing to keep the world out.
I write this article to alert my fellow Christians to not only take seriously what the abused persons in their midst say but also to do whatever possible to protect them. Doing whatever possible may include starting your own home church—that’s what we did. Now we can follow the Holy Spirit’s lead in a way we could not when we were part of the institutional church where nickels and noses held sway over holiness.
